First piece of Photoshop/CG work ever! Having said that, criticism is absolutely welcome ^_^ . This is an early scene from my favorite manga "Nausicaa of the Valley of Wind." Since I cannot draw (yet), the sketch I used as a template came from the manga itself. Nausicaa accepts a challenge to a duel with one of the Imperial Guards. And, of course, she ends up winning the duel with some of the greatest acrobatic moves I've seen.
The drawing itself was made entirely in Photoshop, except for the background which was done using Terragen (again, one of my first renders). Some things I feel I did pretty well on, like the shading on the guards cape. Other things I didn't do as well on, like her face. All in all though I thought it was pretty good for my first picture.
As a side note Nausicaa DOES have pants on. That's similar to the color chosen in the anime, so I decided to go with it (plus I couldn't get any other colors to look right).

Awesome perspective and proportions, thats what really kicks arse in this picture. Colouring and shading could use some work, but just being able to do such a shot is fantastic, I need to learn how to do such dynamic pictures.
Also, gotta love Nausicaa, its my favourite Studio Ghibli film.
